- Description: This is a gorgeous Rose Medallion decorative plate! It is of great quality, with very detailed artwork, the people's faces are very well defined, as are the birds, compared with others we've seen. The easily recognized rose medallion center includes a pink peony and bird, surrounded by what are supposed to be bats, (symbols of good luck and good fortune in China). As with all Rose Medallion, it has vibrant pinks and greens with lots of gilding, typical of Famille Rose. All four panels, called "reserves", have pink florals with gilding. This one is unmarked, but we believe it's Mid 20th Century. Should be used for decoration only, back then they still used LEAD paint so this piece should never be used with food. This plate is beautiful, elegant, and the Rose Medallion pattern is highly desirable. In wonderful condition, would make a great gift for the Oriental decor lover! This is a heavy plate, please keep this in mind at check-out.
